Terms and Conditions
Last updated October 17, 2026
These terms explain the basics of using Nautilance at https://app.nautilance.com : what we provide, what we expect from you, and where our responsibility ends. By creating an account or using Nautilance you agree to them.
Who we are
Nautilance is an independent project, written and funded by one developer. It is not a company, but it is run professionally and in good faith. “Nautilance”, “we” and “us” mean the person who runs it, whose name we give on request. If a company is later set up to run Nautilance, we will update these pages and tell you. You can reach us through the contact page or at support@nautilance.com.
What Nautilance is
Nautilance is a platform that helps yacht crew, yacht owners, yacht management companies and crew agencies find each other, talk, and arrange work. We provide the tools: profiles, vessel lists, job postings, search, calendars, bookings, messages, galleries and the like.
We are not an employer, an employment agency or a party to any agreement you make with someone you meet on Nautilance. Bookings, pay, working conditions, crew agreements, insurance, visas, permits and safety are agreed between you and the other side, and are your responsibility and theirs.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Give true information about yourself or your business, and keep it up to date.
- If you register a business, you confirm you are allowed to act for it.
- Keep access to your email and any password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account type is chosen at sign-up and stays with the account.
Using Nautilance fairly
You agree not to:
- post anything false, misleading, unlawful, hateful, harassing or that you have no right to share;
- pretend to be someone else, or post jobs that don’t exist;
- send spam, or contact people for anything other than yachting work and the purposes Nautilance is for;
- copy, scrape or harvest other people’s data, or use it outside Nautilance without their permission;
- try to break, overload or get around the security or limits of Nautilance.
We may remove content, pause features or suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Where it is safe and reasonable, we will tell you why.
Your content
What you upload (profile details, photos, videos, messages, postings) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people you choose or that the app’s settings allow, only so that Nautilance can work. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except where we must keep it for a while (see the privacy policy).
You are responsible for having the right to share what you upload, including photos of other people.
Verification and trust
We check businesses and give crew ways to show they are trusted (references and confirmed work with verified businesses). These checks are made with care, but they are best effort: they reduce risk, they don’t remove it. A “verified” badge is not a guarantee of anyone’s skills, qualifications, honesty or behaviour.
Always use your own judgement: check certificates, medicals, insurance, permits and references yourself before you rely on them.
Plans and payments
Some features need a paid plan. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the Pricing page. During our launch phase every plan is free. Before you are ever charged, you will see the price and agree to it, and we will tell you in advance about any price change that affects you.
Availability of the service
We work hard to keep Nautilance running and your data safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. There may be interruptions, mistakes or lost messages, and features may change. Don’t rely on Nautilance as your only record of bookings, documents or important conversations.
Limits of our responsibility
As far as the law allows:
- we are not responsible for what other users say or do, for any work, booking, voyage or payment arranged through Nautilance, or for any injury, loss or dispute that comes from it;
- we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost income, lost bookings or lost data;
- our total responsibility to you for anything is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 euros if you paid nothing.
You agree to settle disputes with other users between yourselves and not to bring claims against us for them. If something goes wrong with Nautilance itself, please contact us first: we would much rather fix it together.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that cannot be excluded, for example as a consumer.
Leaving, and ending accounts
You can delete your account at any time under Account › Delete account, and download your data first under Account › Data. We may close or suspend an account that breaks these terms, or close Nautilance altogether; if we close Nautilance, we will give you reasonable notice so you can download your data.
If Nautilance is sold
If Nautilance is sold or taken over, or moves to a company set up to run it, your account and data may be transferred to the new owner so the service can carry on. Before that hand-over we will tell you by email and in the app who the new owner is, so you can choose to stay or to download your data and delete your account. The new owner must respect the privacy policy in force at the time, or ask for your agreement to a new one.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Nautilance grows. For changes that matter, we will tell you in advance in the app or by email. If you keep using Nautilance after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can delete your account.
